Tracking long range precipitation for Southern Ontario using weather models, satellite, and meteorological data.
Christmas Storm Changes Track Slightly!
The Christmas Storm has changed its track slightly, now adding the chance for snow in more eastern areas. I have not updated my map to this change because there are still a few factors I need to look at in regards to the track. I might be able to post tonight when I see the 12z run on the GFS.
What has changed with this storm is the ice mix that could take place. If everything runs exactly as the current models are predicting it to run. Then there would be an area around Buffalo extending into Southern Ontario that would see mostly ice throughout the storm. There would be little chance of a rain changeover in these areas. I have colored those areas pink in the map above. Now this prediction is based on current model forecasts, and I strongly believe that the track will change between now and Friday. Check back later for more details.
