Tracking long range precipitation for Southern Ontario using weather models, satellite, and meteorological data.
Cold Snap Coming
Next Thursday will be a turning point in the weather as mild temperatures will be replaced with cold biting temperatures. There is uncertianty about whether a winter storm will lead that change, or if it will be led by a rainy event for Southern Ontario. The weather models are extremely unpredictable this far out. Currently, the GFS has the low pressure system further east than the GGEM and ECMWF, but that will probably change. I will post further updates in the next couple of days.
As for now, we have a small cold front crossing the midwest into Southern Ontario. It shouldn't cause the temperatures to dip too significantly. Like I mentioned earlier, the real temperature change will arrive sometime later next week.
