Thursday Briefing

Snowsqualls are currently affecting parts of Southern Ontario. We have several bands of snow coming off Lake Huron affecting cities such as Barrie, Owen Sound, Goderich, and Peterborough. Some of these bands are giving snow rates of 2 centimeters an hour creating zero visibility from gusty winds and blowing snow. These squalls will start to move southwest over the next 6-12 hours. Snowsquall watches and warning have been issued for some of the regions I colored in white. For more information on that, please click your region on the map located on the top right side of the web page.

The clipper storm that will hit Southern Ontario or just north of Southern Ontario during the dates of February 2-4 will still not be a large snow maker. I can only see 5-10 centimeters of snow for this small and fast moving storm.

The storm that I am keeping an eye on for the dates of February 5-8 is still fluctuating back and forth on whether it wants to take a east or western track. Only time will tell on what track it actually takes. I drew a rough map on the three tracks I believe it could take. More on that will come later.
